Advantages of being an entrepreneur

1. No Boss sitting on your neck asking you do this do that
2. You might become very rich someday
3. Some people envy you cos you got the guts to take the risk
4. Your mom will stop troubling you about getting married cos she doesnt know wat you are doing
5. You can drink Beer at 3:00 PM while working on your business plan.. Now this is a definite plus point isnt it.

Well i wouldnt call these disadvantages, but challenges..

1. You dont know how long your money supply is going to last
2. You go through stages of depression and exuberance and should know how much to drink exactly at each situation. Its tough believe me.
3. You have to be penny wise and pound foolish. Like ensuring you cook food to reduce costs but go out clubbing on weekends.
4. You work from home and have to stay motivated
5. You really have to work hard and wait for the returns.
6. You have to be so humble and at the same time should know where the line is between being a boot licker and humble.

These are all i can think of right now.. When i can find more, i will add them as addendums..

It was not "Row row row your boat gently down the stream".. It was Row Row Row your boat as fast as you can up and down the Kallang backwater, get drenched by the dirty salt water splashing up on you, in your mouth and burning your eyes. It took me a while to understand the fact that once you get on the boat, you are not going to get out of it for the next hour and a half, and that you are at the mercy of the trainer who makes you work so hard that you wish you could jump into the water and prefer drowning to staying on the boat and do that extra practice round.

It started slow and i was all enthusiastic.. Yes, this is awesome, i told the guy next to me.. Then the actual practice started..First race of 250 meters. we did in 131 sec. Then we had to get back to the place where we started..And then race again..This went on for atleast 8 times. Man.. by the 6th trial, i knew i was out..But it was a team effort. so had to put my part in.. So pushed myself and did it..

It was fun, but now i am recovering from muscle aches on my forearms, biceps, triceps, shoulder, lower back. Got to go for the next round on thursday evening. :)

"Row Row Row the boat gently down the stream".. I forgot the next line in that rhyme.. Well anyways thats not the crux of what i am about to do. I finally met some interesting gals and guys at Attica last night. And i will be joining them to take part in practice sessions and if am good enough might be part of the the dragon boat race team in singapore river.

Sounds interesting isnt it.. Well let me see how what my arms and the other parts of my body are gonna say wen i participate in the first session this coming tuesday.

Work life is as busy as it can ever get. Sleeping late in the nights and waking up at 9:00 AM to start the day is no joke. And so is reading all kinds of books on marketing but its fun. Finally visited the singapore botanical gardens this morning and spent 5 hours doing what i like a lot, yeah rite. dont get ideas, i was just shooting.. i mean.. photographing orchids and flowers.

The other good news i heard is finally my dad's got a transfer from this wretched place called Vijaywada which is in the midst of nowhere in Andhra pradesh, India. Atleast now i neednt spend 7 hours in the train after flying down from singapore to chennai. It would take another 3 hrs to get home.

Gotto go and get some work done.. ciao folks.

When i was writing this blog, I wasnt sure where category to post this under. Should it be politics, relegion, philosophy. I think we ought to have a Category here called Pure Common Sense.

How many of us read this article
Do we live in the 21st or 16th Century .

For one, i think the article has to be renamed Do we live in the 21rst or prehistoric age. Because as far as i can remember, the middle ages were a golden period for India. That aside, the article talks about the incident where a couple were separated by a village panchayat in India becuase they married even though they fall under the same "gotra". Well for those who want to know what a gotra is, it basically is a claim made by every hindu that he belongs to a particular lineage of mythological rishis. Of course its a claim and any literate person should understand that this is just a claim and nothing else. This is the second such incident i am reading about. The first one was a few months back when a muslim panchayat asked this girl who had remarried because her first husband was reported dead during the Kargil War. Unfortunately for her, this guy came back to claim her. And the panchayat inspite of the girls wishes and the fact that she was carrying the second husband's child sent her to the first husband.

This is absolutely nuts. Dont these guys understand values and ethics. Why the heck do they blindly follow some religious rules that dont make any sense in this new world. And what does the Indian government do? In the case of the muslim panchayat, the government keeps fearing a communal riot. Man, Why the hell dont we still have the Uniform code of Law? And in the case of the hindu couple too absolutely nothing. The panchayats were established to provide quick justice in the villages not justice that is based on relegious bias and ignorance. Precedence was set by the Gudiya case and then follows the gotra case. God knows what next..
